Counseling And Career Guidance

According to (UTUSAN,2017), the number of students from the B40 community who lose interest in education has been increasing yearly. Students deceived by the fake promises of private institutions.It burdens their family to bear a large amount of debts. Lack of counselling focused on this community students being the prime factor for this issue. Therefore, counselling session that had been formed by the initiative of PKDS 2018, can guide students of B40 community for a better future despite utilizing the opportunities given by the government

About

Quality Direction 2018:

This program becomes a platform and motivates the students involved to further their studies through various facilities provided by the government. Throughout March 2019, a total of 145 students from the nearby area participated in the free counseling program introduced by PKDS extending to higher education (University, Polytechnic, Community College, ILP, ADTEC). In this program, we have also assisted the students for free to enroll in the UPU system and help them choose courses related to their examination results and explain as well as help to find relevant scholarships.

In addition, we have also brought two lecturers from the Kulim community colleges to help students with average results in choosing long and short term courses available at the Kulim Community College. In this program,a lecturer from Universiti Sains Malaysia,a Lecturer from IPG Tunku Bainun,a Lecturer from IPG Sultan Abdul Hamid and a Lecturer from IPG Ipoh came together in providing their services and expertise in this program. Out of the students registered 25 were STPM 2018 candidates and the rest were SPM 2018 candidates.

  • Open Day 2018 – 17 students registered
  • 2 students managed to get into IPG
  • 4 students joined the Community College
  • 3 students entered ILP
  • 2 students continued with their STPM
  • 1 student joined polytechnic
  • 5 students were contacted but no reply so far
